Night Shift Benefits

36 hours per week (three shifts a week) from 20:00 to 08:00. Salary: • New to Care: £12.81 per hour on weekdays, £13.81 on weekends, and £14.81 for overtime (non-medication trained). • Care Assistant with less than 18 months experience: £12.92 per hour on weekdays, £13.92 on weekends, and £14.92 for overtime (Medication trained). • Care Assistant with more than 18 months experience: £13.02 per hour on weekdays, £14.02 on weekends, and £15.02 for overtime (Medication trained). • Care Assistant with NVQ Level Two: £13.13 per hour on weekdays, £14.13 on weekends, and £15.13 for overtime. • Care Assistant studying or with an NVQ Level Three: £13.23 per hour on weekdays, £14.23 on weekends, and £15.23 for overtime. The Role We are a well-regarded residential home based in Littlehampton and are currently seeking a reliable and compassionate Day Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. As a Night Care Assistant, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to the residents, ensuring their individual needs are met with dignity, empathy, and respect. You will play a vital role in promoting a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment throughout the night. The care team is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those they support. Key Responsibilities: • Assist residents with night-time routines, including preparing for bed and morning wake-up support. • Provide personal care as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times. • Carry out regular checks on residents throughout the night, responding to any needs promptly. • Administer appropriate support with continence care, following care plans and protocols. • Monitor and record any changes in residents’ conditions and report to senior staff. • Respond promptly and efficiently to call bells and resident needs. • Assist in repositioning residents as needed to prevent discomfort and pressure sores. • Maintain a calm and reassuring presence, providing emotional support when required. • Ensure the home remains clean, tidy, and hazard-free throughout the night. • Comply with all safeguarding policies and procedures. • Be aware of and adhere to the Emergency Plan and Fire Procedures. • Complete all required documentation and handover reports for the day staff. • Follow care plan updates, system communications, and instructions from senior staff. • Undertake all mandatory training and any additional training as required for professional development. • Always uphold residents’ confidentiality and the organisation’s policies.
